Why coaching for family violence recovery?

As a qualified coach and a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), Kerry supports you to;

This is possibly a new experience, considering you may have endured a relationship with a person(s) who had power and control over you. This may have impacted your confidence and decision-making capabilities. Coaching gives this back.

QUESTIONNAIRE FOR COACHING READINESS. 

 Are you;

  • Safe and have left the abusive relationship? (Safety/Stabilisation)
  • In stable accommodation and have your security needs met? (Safety/Stabilisation)
  • Completed or near completed, counselling, psychotherapy, or mental health care? (Healing) 

A victim survivor may not be ready for coaching if their immediate safety, physical and psychological needs have not been met. If you met these criteria you are ready for coaching and moving forward towards planning your future.             

Coaching Program

  • There are six individualized coaching sessions in this package, approximately 75-minutes each. It can be varied to suit your needs.
  • The initial session is to focus on establishing the goals that you want to achieve and to discuss the concerns that may be creating barriers. 
  • Through powerful questioning and the use of coaching strategies and tools, Kerry will work with you to action the goals identified and to assist you to learn more about yourself.
  • Follow up emails and brief phone calls between the 75-minute sessions are included in the package. 

Recovery from family violence can be a difficult and overwhelming time, particularly when making life decisions. Things such as; participation in learning, education, returning to work or changing job positions and/or making connections to community, culture, and identity. To be frank all major life changes can cause stress which requires support. These decisions may also involve planning for your children. Kerry can help bring clarity to these decisions.

Coaching provides a platform of support and empowerment, through powerful questioning and the use of techniques, strategies, and tools, that will encourage you;

  • To focus on the future and identify and explore your own potential and individual design for yourself, (and your children). 
  • To gain independence and confidence to overcome personal doubt and insecurities about your abilities and capabilities due to the trauma experienced.
  • To produce fulfilling results in your personal (and professional) life and help improve your performance and enhance the quality of your life (and your children).
